Crispy Baked Party Wings



The classic party appetizer and always a hit for game day or entertaining. To make the wings crispy without frying, cornstarch is used in the coating.


Baking the wings on a rack is important so that the fat can drain off to get it crispy on all sides.



Here are some other options for the sauce:

  • Add honey / brown sugar

  • Add ginger / soy sauce

  • Add minced garlic and heat with the butter

Baked Party Wings


Ingredients

3 lbs party wings

2 Tablespoons oil

2 Tablespoons cornstarch

Seasonings: salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, etc.

1/2-1 cup buffalo wing sauce

1/4 - 1/2 cup butter, melted

Optional Serving: celery and, ranch or blue cheese dressing

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Place a wire rack over a baking sheet lined with foil.


Place the wings in a large bowl and pat dry with paper towels. Toss the wings with oil, seasonings and cornstarch to evenly coat.

Arrange the wings in a single layer on the baking sheet. Bake the wings until cooked through and the skins are crispy (about 45–50 minutes), turning over halfway.


Melt the butter in a microwave or saucepan and stir in the buffalo sauce.


(Or heat in a pot, big enough to fit the wings).

Transfer the wings to a large bowl. Pour the sauce over the wings and toss to coat. Place on serving platter and serve with dressing or celery.
