I love the ease of throwing everything in a pot and waiting for my dinner to be ready. But what I love even more is adding wine!
No need to cook your pasta separately as everything is cooked in one pot. And if you don’t want to add wine, substitute with crushed tomatoes.
Ingredients
1 Tablespoon olive oil
4 garlic cloves
2 cups red wine ( or 28oz can crushed tomatoes)
2 1/2 cups water or broth
12 oz spaghetti or other pasta
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 Tablespoon butter (optional)
1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese
Parsley or Basil
Directions
Heat oil in a large pot or pan. Add garlic and sauté for a few minutes. Add wine and water and bring to a boil.
Add in spaghetti, salt and pepper and stir together. Make sure liquid covers all of the pasta. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 12-15 minutes or until pasta is cooked, stirring at 5 minute intervals. ( If the pasta seems dry, add little more liquid)
Stir in butter and cheese and garnish with parsley or basil.
