So easy make using a crock pot or instant pot. Add pork, your favorite spices and salsa and that’s it! Shred the pork and add to sandwiches, tacos, filling for enchiladas, burrito bowl or sliders.
Salsa Pulled Pork
Ingredients 3-4 lbs boneless pork shoulder or pork butt Any Spices such as: salt, pepper, cumin, garlic powder, paprika, chili powder, oregano, taco seasoning, etc. 1 jar (about 2 cups) salsa
Directions Add the pork to a crock pot or instant pot. (If big, cut into 2-3 pieces) . Rub with your favorite spices, then add salsa.
- Crock pot - cook on low for 8-10 hours - Instant Pot - cook for45- 60 minutes (depending on size), release pressure after 15 minutes.
Take out half of the juice from the pot and set aside.
Shred the pork, adding some of the reserved juice if needed, while shredding (how much liquid you need depends on if you’re making tacos, enchiladas, bowls, etc.).
Reserve any remaining liquid to use for reheating or to make soups or stews
