Sesame Chicken- Easy and delicious dinner for a busy weeknight. This dish is usually deep fried but decided on sautéing for a healthier option. Ingredients
Sauce 1/4 cup soy sauce 1 Tablespoon sesame oil 1/4 cup rice vinegar or mirin 2 Tablespoons water 2 Tablespoons honey or brown sugar ( or more as desired) 1 teaspoon grated ginger 3 garlic cloves, minced
Chicken 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into cubes salt and pepper 1 egg 2 Tablespoons cornstarch 1-2 Tablespoons sesame oil or oilOptional Garnish: sesame seeds and green onions Serve over rice.
Directions
In a bowl, combine sauce ingredients and set aside.
Season chicken with salt and pepper.In a bowl, combine egg and corn starch and mix together.
Toss chicken in the egg mixture.
Heat oil in a large skillet. Cook chicken until brown on all sides.
Pour in the sauce and toss chicken to coat in the sauce.
Simmer on low until sauce thickens.Serve over rice and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions
